PHERO was born from a moment of change.

Two Latina mothers from the Dyckman area of Inwood, Manhattan stood at a crossroads. Tired of settling. Ready to build something of our own. We were not looking for just athleisure. We were looking for control, purpose, and a future shaped on our own terms.

We have been friends for 29 years. From childhood classrooms to adulthood, careers, motherhood, and life altering challenges including cancer, we have grown side by side. Through every season, our bond has been built on trust, honesty, and unwavering support. That bond is the foundation of PHERO.

After more than two decades at a company where one of us no longer felt valued, it was time to walk away. At the same time, the other was navigating life as a disabled mother and breast cancer survivor. We both stepped back from work, not to quit, but to realign.

In early 2024, we committed to rebuilding ourselves physically and mentally. Training became our anchor. Strength became our language. By February 2025, one thing was clear. Finding athleisure that truly fit, supported, and moved with us was harder than it should be.

So we built it ourselves.
